About This Book

Using the teachings of Jesus as the foundation of each lesson, the student learns how Jesus’ words are applicable in his daily life.

Dear Senior Teen,

Relationships are very important to young people. There are laws that govern our relationship with God and with our fellow man. Certain things can be done to strengthen them and the lessons in this book can help you do that.

There were reasons why Jesus spent three years with His disciples. They saw love in action. And this had a profound influence on men like Peter, James and John. Your world is very different from that society. It’s a very different culture with different role models and great people to admire. What impact does today’s culture have on you? What about your role models and great people? Do you have a desire to be great? Are you willing to do what it takes to be great? Learn in lesson one what Great Stuff really is and how to have it.

Do you understand why God gave us the Sabbath day? Do you look upon it as a blessing or an imposition into your lifestyle? God’s not out to “get you” every time you do something you shouldn’t be doing on the Sabbath. But God doesn’t always have to “get you.” Your own mistakes and sins can adequately do it. Can you expect God to look down and bless you when you flout His law? God, in His wisdom, designed your body to need a day of rest every seventh day. Then Let’s Rest on His Sabbath day and take time out for a relationship with our Maker.

The Law wasn’t given because God wants to impose a harsh set of rules on you. The Law was given to make your life work. It shows you how to improve your Relationships with God and your fellow man. Lesson three shows how You and the Law work together.

Do you yearn for respect, approval and Peer Admiration? When you live your life to please God, and God alone, He’ll ensure a much greater reward throughout all eternity.

Why did Jesus spend so much time talking about money? Wealth isn’t evil of itself. Give vs Get shows you the pitfalls of money and how to avoid them. God has given us everything we have, and there is no way that we can out give Him. How we give to God shows our love for Him and what kind of a relationship we want to have with Him.

What’s in it for you if you take the heat, pray God’s blessings on your enemies, and don’t expect them to repay you? Learn in lesson eight how the Golden Rule exceeds all other codes of conduct. It’s hard to know what kinds of problems other people have on their plates. They need love, approval and Fair Treatment too. Isn’t this what Relationships are all about? How we treat other people is a real test of our Christianity.

Even though the wide gate your peers may want you to enter seems exciting and fun, it leads to pain today and death tomorrow. The good news, is the rewards are wonderful for those who enter the Narrow Way. When God measures a man, He puts the tape around his heart instead of his head. If we don’t Walk the Talk, we could cause a friend to stumble – our Relationships with God and friends could fall apart.

Instant Relationships just don’t happen. These lessons will give you an edge on cultivating Relationships with God and your peers. They show you how to plant the seeds, and water them with time, commitment, and the right principles. But remember, no human relationship can substitute for a relationship with God. This relationship begins with reading your Daily Devotionals every day and your lesson before each class. Now get with it, and gain the joy of watching your Relationships blossom!
