This set of ten lessons covers stories from the lives of Samuel, Saul, Jonathan, David, and Solomon. Each lesson uses the story of the Bible hero to provide a springboard into discussing Godly, Christian conduct for the student today.
Dear Juniors
Welcome! You are ready to start a new set of YEA lessons in the Bible Heroes series. When you finish these ten lessons, you will have spent ten weeks acting like a hero--one of God's heroes or heroines.
As you read about a Great Bible hero, Samuel, you'll learn why it's important to Keep Your Word when you give it, and to Come A-Runnin when your parents call. When Israel asked for a king like the nations around them, you'll learn what kind of king Saul was. And you'll learn why you must Choose Your King today - and choose wisely. It's important to Ask for God's Guidance and to Know Who You Are. When you know you belong to God and you listen to His voice you can Live Courageously, just as David did when he faced and killed Goliath. As you read about how Saul wanted to kill David, you'll learn how to Be Secure in God and His promises to you. Be Content, as Jonathan was, with what God has planned for your life. David had to learn to Wait for God - because God had great things planned for David. And whatever you do and wherever you go, you must choose to Honor God.
Be sure to read your lesson before class, do your ten-week assignment, and read your Daily Devotionals. We're going to have a lot of fun learning about Samuel, David, Saul, and Jonathan. Let's get ready to Act Like a Hero.
Enjoy!
