This set of ten lessons teaches about the events in Exodus 1-19. Topics include Moses’ birth, his life as a shepherd, the burning bush, the plagues on Egypt, and God leading the Israelites through the Red Sea to the foot of Mt. Sinai.
Dear Juniors,
Imagine yourself standing at the top of a high cliff and looking down. You are going to rappel down the side of the cliff. You have all the right equipment - harness, ropes, anchor, boots, and helmet. Your instructor tells you it is time to step over the side. How would you feel - excited, thrilled, ready to go? Or, would you hesitate, would you be afraid, even terrified?
It takes courage, along with the right equipment and training, to be a rock climber. There are many dangers. Unless you know what you are doing, you could get hurt, or even be killed.
You will be faced with many challenges in life. Sometimes there are divorces in families. People get sick and even die. Problems at school may cause you to be fearful. Temptations, like smoking, drinking, stealing, or even doing drugs, can be like the cliff. There are many dangers once you step over the side.
The lessons in this YEA book, Courage for the Challenges, will equip you with what you will need to face these challenges. Each lesson is anchored to God's Word. God Has A Plan that will get you safely through all the challenges life throws at you. Even when you are afraid or things look hopeless, Don't Give Up. God is with you. Obeying God will help you avoid some Serious Consequences.
In these lessons you will follow Moses as he runs to the wilderness after an Angry Attack. You will join the Israelites as they leave Egypt, free from slavery. Witness God's awesome power as He turns a Hopeless Situation into a rescue. And, be sure to pay attention as The Lord Speaks!

As you read your Daily Devotionals and learn your memory verses you will put on the right equipment. Completing each Activity will help tie the lesson to your daily challenges.
