About This Book

This set of ten lessons teach about God’s holy days and the non-observance of Easter, Halloween, and Christmas

Dear Intermediates,

There’s something very exciting about celebrating holidays – they are Special Days. On these Special Days you don’t go to school, and you get together with your family, friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. It’s a time for special foods – a time when you can pig out. Whatever you do during a holiday season must be really neat.

God knew that we need Special Days to celebrate. From the beginning He had “appointed times” for people to celebrate. There are Special Days when He wants us to take a day off and not do any work except to prepare special meals. He wants us to go to church and learn more about why He wants us to celebrate these Special Days and what they really mean.

Every year, you get out of school and go to church on these days. But do you really understand why God’s Holy Days are important to you? Can you explain to your friends why you celebrate seven days they may not keep?

This book has some really cool lessons to help you understand all of these Special Days. YEA takes you through them in order. Stories are told so you can relate them to your life. You will be able to tell your friends or teacher why you don’t go to school on these days.

The first lesson about these Special Days is Free At Last! God does not command you to rest on the Passover. You can go to school or work on this day. As you read your lesson, you will learn that God freed the nation of Israel from 400 years of slavery on this night. You’ll discover that the Passover has far more importance to you than Israel being set free. You’ll want to find out what it is.

Do you wish someone would Untangle the Mess that your life is in? When God rescued Israel from Egypt, their lives were really a mess. Life may seem a little awkward during the Day of Unleavened Bread when you can’t have a hamburger or even a slice of pizza. Does it really matter if you sneak just a little during these Special Days? But what about that flat bread? Do you have to eat it? Can you please God if you don’t?

Hang on to your hats. You’re about to discover An Awesome Event! Something earth shaking happened on this day and it has three names. Enquiring minds want to know. Read your lesson and find out what these things are.

Autumn comes and so do some more Special Days. Get ready to Grab the Rope. The Bible talks about the “seventh trumpet” being blown on the Feast of Trumpets. But what does that have to do with you? If God has an angel blow the seventh trumpet in your life time, will you be ready to Grab the Rope? You’ll want to check out this lesson and see.

What do Two Goats have to do with your life? What can you do to make this a Special Day? Lesson five will show you.

The Feast of Tabernacles is probably your favorite festival. It’s a great time to celebrate! But why do you stay there for eight days and not seven when the Bible says it’s a seven-day festival? Lesson seven explains the whole thing.

Easter, Halloween and Christmas may make you want to go into hibernation until they are over. Don’t panic. Help is on the way in these three lessons.

The ten lessons in this book are designed to empower teenagers with the understanding of some very Special Days. Read your lesson and learn your memory verse and we’ll see you in class.
