About This Book

This set of ten lessons teach about the Israelites coming out of Egypt and journeying to the foot of Mt. Sinai.

Dear Intermediates,

If you're in the school band or on the drill team, you're familiar with the command, "Forward March!" During the 40 years the Israelites wandered in the wilderness, they became accustomed to that command as well. More than a million of them left Egypt after the first Passover. Pharaoh didn't like it a bit that his slaves were no longer at his beck and call and his economy was in shambles. No grass grew under his feet before he picked 600 chariots from his corps and instructed his officers to get aboard them. The Chase Was On! You can almost hear the "William Tell Overture" as Pharaoh's cavalry raced towards God's people.

The Israelites appeared to be hemmed in between the mountains and the Red Sea. They could see Pharaoh and his army approaching far in the distance. Moses began to pray, but God said, "It's Action Time!" Learn from lesson two what God expected Moses to do to save His people. God miraculously saved the Israelites while drowning the Egyptians in the Red Sea. So they took time out for Song and Dance.

Trials and disappointments come in all shapes and sizes. They certainly did for a little scared cottontail rabbit and they did for the Israelites. When disappointments come your way, what's important is How You Handle It. Lesson four will show you how.

The flour in the Israelite's kneading troughs didn't last long and they ran out of food and water. Again, God took care of them. They went out in the morning and found What Is It? all over the ground. Study lesson five and learn what it is.

Life isn't always easy for teens. When life seems tough and you begin to fear you just don't fit in, lesson six will show you a Simple Formula that really works.

Throughout man's history there have been wars. Is God a pacifist that says a nation should never go to war? Learn in lesson seven if there is A Time to Fight.

No Man is an Island, as the song goes. Life works better with the help of others. A helping hand is often appreciated when you're trying to do a job. Whether it's at home or in your church, there comes a time when we need to pitch-in and Lighten the Load, as lesson eight explains.

But Don't Give Up. God heard the deep sorrow of the Israelites and delivered them from slavery, bringing them to Mount Sinai for a major Mountain Top Drama - an awesome event. Learn about these things in lessons nine and ten. America is great because America is good. God will keep us great if we remain good. We are good when we keep His commandments.

Creation Book Four is a challenge. It's fun. And it will make your life work if you will study your lessons, read your devotionals, and do what they say. Forward March!
