Dear Intermediates,
Did you see the movie, Titanic? This British luxury liner was the largest of its time and thought to be unsinkable. But on April 15, 1912, it sank on its maiden voyage. 1513 lives were lost. Only the arrival of the Cunard liner Carpathia an hour and twenty minutes after the Titanic went down prevented even more lives from being lost. As a result of this disaster, the Convention for Safety of Life at Sea drew up rules requiring every ship have lifeboat space for each person it has on board. When you are at sea, a lifeboat can save your life.

There are also things that prevent you from making it into the “Lifeboat.” As useful as money is, The Love of Money can hinder your rescue when this world is sinking. Learn what to do about it in lesson two.
