10 lessons · Seniors
These ten lessons apply the events of Israel traveling from Egypt to the foot of Mt. Sinai to the student.
Dear Senior Teen,
These ten seminars take you to the place where the Nation of Israel is Awaiting a Gift. The God to Know gave this gift to everyone - including you. You will learn this gift was here from the beginning. It's in the nature of things. It is eternal. This gift is the Law of God.
As these seminars take you deeper into the study of God's Word. Among other things, you will learn there are many words used in the Bible for “law." King David said, “To all perfection I see a limit; but your commands are boundless. Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long. Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me. I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes. I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts" (Psalm 119:96-100, NIV).
You will go to the foot of Mount Sinai with the Israelites as they prepare for the most awesome day in the history of man when God's law was codified, perhaps for the first time. But on the way there, Pharaoh got Stuck in The Mud trying to cross the Red Sea and capture the Israelites. Two walls of water caved in on the Egyptians, drowning the army, chariots, and Pharaoh.
God saved Israel one more time and it was A Time to Dance. There was much rejoicing because Pharaoh was once and for all no longer their nemesis. The Israelites were free to continue their trek toward the Promised Land. The Israelites left Elim and went to the Sihn wilderness. They began to gripe endlessly about not having lamb stew and bread that they had in Egypt. They accused God of taking them into the desert to starve them to death. They simply didn't see The Purpose in what God was doing with His chosen people. God fed them with manna and told them to Save the "What's It" and put some in the Ark of the Covenant.
The teen years are a critical period for developing leadership skills. What better person to learn them from than Moses, The Leader? Like polishing a diamond, there are many facets that go into making a leader, and each is important. This seminar will help you focus on leadership characteristics you need to develop in your own life.
Three months after the Israelites left Egypt, they came to the base of Mount Sinai and set up camp facing that rugged mountain. Moses went up to meet with God and He told him to tell the Israelites, "If you will listen obediently to what I say and keep my covenant, out of all the peoples you'll be my Special Treasure. It was time for them to Take It Seriously because God was about to thunder His Ten Commandments from Mount Sinai. But that will have to wait for your first book in the new Bible Heroes Seminar series.
Read your seminar material and Daily Devotionals, and be prepared to learn many new things that will take you deeper into the Bible.
