This set of ten lessons tells the stories of Abraham and Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.
Dear Primaries,
Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night after a bad dream? They seem so real, don't they? But, then Mommy or Daddy tells you it was just a dream. It didn't really happen. There is no need to be afraid. They may even pray with you. 'Then you can go back to sleep. Everyone has dreams. Some are good and some are bad. But, our dreams are nothing to worry about.
You might wonder what Dreams and Promises have in common. The dreams talked about in this book are not ordinary dreams. These dreams are messages from God, Himself. God talked to Jacob in a Heavenly Dream. He promised to give Jacob a land of his own. God also promised to be with him and protect him. That was a wonderful dream!
Joseph was his father's Favorite Son. God gave Joseph some dreams that made his family mad. His brothers got so mad that they wanted Joseph dead! But, instead, they sold him to be a slave. Joseph's dreams did come true, just like God said.
God also spoke to Pharaoh in dreams. But, his dreams were warnings. God told Pharaoh that some bad things were going to happen. And, Joseph was the only one who could tell what Pharaoh's Dreams meant.
How many times has someone told you, "I promise!" but didn't keep their promise? It makes us sad when someone forgets a promise. The One making these promises didn't forget. He kept every one. God made these promises. And, you can count on God!
Read your lessons before each Sabbath School class. You will be able to talk about them in class. There are some fun activities to go with each lesson. Don't forget to learn your memory verses and read the daily devotionals.
Remember, these Dreams and Promises are from God. And, what He has to say is really important - both then and now!
