This set of ten lessons are based on the teachings and miracles of Jesus - and how they apply to teens’ lives today.
Dear Intermediates,
Your life is tough enough without making it more difficult. YEA has something that we think will help Light the Fire! Never have the YEA lessons been more exciting, relevant and effective for early teens. These lessons will help you sort out so many problems that come your way, and help with situations you face daily in your life.
You’ll learn in the very first lesson that you don’t have to be rich or beautiful – you can even be handicapped and be successful. Everything begins with attitude. God doesn’t want to spend eternity with dim bulbs. You were born to be a bright light in the world and to let it shine. You are very special to God. He placed you on this earth to be a winner.
As you travel your road through life you’ll come to forks – places where you have to choose which way you will go. Losers take one road, and winners take a road few are willing to try. Which road will you take?
You are someone God wants in His Kingdom. He has chosen you to be a part of His family. You are special in His eyes. What an honor it is to be chosen by God! But one cannot have honor without responsibility.
You’ll read two unforgettable stories in lesson four. What Jesus did by calming the storm for the disciples was awesome! Do you face storms or bumps in your life that you wish weren’t there? The Great God who calmed the storm can smooth out the bumps in your life. There is no rock too big for Jesus to move. Is peer pressure dogging your steps? Are you tempted to smoke, drink or use drugs? Jesus, our Rock, stands ready and willing to help you.
Do you value life as much as God does? The two boys who killed twelve people at the Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado looked at their own classmates as less than human.
Sexual sins have so many bad consequences. Too often they lead to abortion. That only compounds the problem and makes it worse. But there is a way out. Lesson seven shows you how to stay out of trouble.
No one likes to think of dying. Death is an enemy. Lesson nine gives awesome hope. Death, the worst enemy of all, will be conquered.
Your book ends by showing you how to stop the noise. What noise, you might ask? Peer pressure and conflicting opinions get very noisy. They’re so confusing that some times its hard to sort out the good from the bad. You don’t need to be confused. Stay focused on Christ’s return and your wonderful reward He will bring with Him. That can stop the noise in your life.
These lessons are fun. They can give you help when you need it. They can make you a better Christian. But for them to do these things, you need to read your lesson and learn your memory verse before every class. It will only take a few minutes. This will be time well spent. You’ll enjoy class more and you can help others as you participate in a lively interactive discussion.
Get ready. You can Light the Fire!
