God told Noah to build the ark. He told him to put lots of rooms inside. This ark had many more rooms than Noah and his family needed. God was making room for many animals.
God told Noah that he should take two of every kind of animal, and seven pairs of al clean animals into the ark. But, Noah didn't have to go out looking for the animals. The animals came to Noah!
God told Noah to take two of every kind of animal into the ark. He even made room for two of every kind of bug and creeping thing, like lizards and snakes. Noah didn't have to take fish into the ark because fish live in the water. The flood wouldn't hurt them.
Noah also had to take enough food for his family to eat. He had to take enough food for al the animals to eat, too.
What a sight it must have been! The huge boat was sitting on dry land. The parade of animals came marching two by two. There were two elephants and two tigers, two giraffes and two hippos. Birds flew in the window. Noah made sure they all had a place to sleep.
Noah's neighbors thought he was crazy. But, Noah was obeying God.

The difference between a teacher who keeps the attention of her class and one whose students "drift off" is often found in their use of sensory stimulus. Varying the stimulus or using multiple stimuli helps the children to focus on the lesson at hand. Overuse of one teaching method over a long period of time may cause the children to lose interest.
Children aged three to five are developing their motor skills. You can encourage this development, as well as hold their interest, by incorporating movement in the teaching process. Today's lesson affords an excellent opportunity for the children to use their imagination along with their large muscles as they "act out” animal movements.
Before you come to class, enlarge the animal patterns and print them on white construction paper for every child to have some. The patterns can be found on the pattern page D. You may want to color some of these to use while telling the story.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for all the different animals that you made. And, thank you for saving them from the flood. I'm glad you take care of the animals and I'm glad you take care of me! In Jesus name. Amen.
