CREATED - made something out of nothing
Long, long ago, before anything, there was God. Everywhere He looked it was dark. God looked out at the darkness and decided to place something in it. He spoke a word and the world appeared. Then God made light and divided it into day and night. God liked what He had made.
Next, God made water and put it on the earth. He put clouds in the sky. Everything needs water to live. That is why God made the water before He made anything else.
After that, God began to make the earth beautiful. He used some of the water and made it into lakes. He made great big oceans with salty water. Then He made the rivers and the tall mountains covered with snow. He made the rolling hills. God covered the land with green grass and brightly colored flowers. Finally, He made all kinds of trees. God looked out on all that He had made and said, “It is good!'
God looked out at the dark night sky. He thought it needed something. So He sprinkled stars over the sky. Then He hung the moon to light up the night. He made the bright sun and placed it in the sky to light up the day.
What a wise and wonderful God we have. This is His world!

Creation
Creator
Bible, YEA students and teacher's books, dog puppet, three balls of various sizes, crayons, scissors, six inch paper plates, attendance and memory verse charts, stats, songbook, CD/cassette player, CD/music tape, can of shaving cream
The first book in the second year's curriculum begins at the beginning - in Genesis. The ten lessons in book one cover the days of creation and the story of Noah and the flood. Get a chart to record the attendance and memory verse recitation of each child. Place it low enough on the wall for the children to reach.
Arrive early enough to arrange your room and have all your supplies within easy reach. As the children arrive, greet each one by name. Help them to place a star on their attendance chart, and involve them in a pre-lesson activity or game until al the students have arrived. Then seat the children in small chairs or on the floor in a semicircle. Seat yourself so that you can teach at their eye level.
Researchers have concluded that preschool children often confuse Jesus and God. They use the names interchangeably. They may say that Jesus made everything and that God made everything. Their understanding of this is not incorrect, only incomplete John 1:1-3).
You are laying a foundation for the preschooler's future growth and knowledge of the wonderful truths contained in the Bible. Since children of this age do not understand abstracts, it is important that you continually use concrete examples to show what God made, or how He can take care of us. These lessons in the book of Genesis will help lay a firm foundation for the rest of their lives. They will instill within the children the fact that "all things were made by Him."
The first five lessons in this book deal with creation. Introduce the children to the dog puppet, Alpha. He will be used to teach these first five lessons. The children won't notice that you are doing the talking if you give the puppet life-like movements. This should be practiced in front of a mirror at home.
Have the puppet ask the review questions to make this a fun part of the lesson.
1. Who made our wonderful world and everything in it?
2. What did God see before He started creating?
3. What were the first things that God made?
4. Why do you think God made the sun, moon and stats?
5. What did God make that everything needs?
6. How did God make the earth beautiful?

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the sun, moon and stars, for the grass, trees and flowers. Help me remember that all these things come from you and belong to you. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
