TOMB - grave for the dead, sometimes like a cave
RISEN - come back to life
Jesus had been dead for three days. His disciples were very sad. Some of them had gone back to their fishing boats. Others were afraid that the soldiers would come for them too.
Some women were crying as they walked to the tomb early Sunday morning. These women were Jesus’ friends. When they got there they were in for a surprise! The big stone was rolled away. Who could have moved such a heavy stone? They looked inside, but Jesus was gone. Where had they taken Jesus their Savior?
An angel was standing by the door. He told the women, “Jesus is not here, He is alive.”
The women could hardly believe their ears. They ran from the tomb shouting, “He is alive again!”
It makes us sad to think about Jesus dying. But, we should be very happy that He didn’t stay dead. We can be like the women and tell our friends – He is alive again!
Roll, roll, roll the stone,
Roll the stone away.
Jesus is alive again,
What a happy day!

The following poem, whose author is unknown, emphasizes the importance of beginning early to teach children about the Bible and the Savior.
Your Child’s Heart
I took a piece of living clay and
idly molded it one day.
And as my fingers pressed it still,
It moved and yielded to my will.
I came again when days were past,
The piece of clay was hard at last.
The shape I gave it still it bore,
and I could change it nevermore.
I took a piece of living clay and
gently formed it day by day.
I molded it with power and art. . .
A young child’s soft and yielding heart.
I came again when years were gone.
He was a man I looked upon.
He still that early impression bore,
and I could change him nevermore.

THE BIG STONE BLOCKED THE FRONT OF THE TOMB. THE WOMEN COULD NOT BELIEVE THE TOMB WAS EMPTY. WHO WOULD BE STRONG ENOUGH TO ROLL THE BIG STONE AWAY FROM THE TOMB?

Dear Father, thank you for sending your Son to die for my sins. Thank you that He is alive again. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
