DENIED - to declare as untrue
Peter was one of Jesus’ disciples. He left his fishing boat to follow Jesus. He promised Jesus that he would always love Him. He also promised to always be His friend. But Jesus knew Peter’s heart. He told Peter that a rooster would remind him of his promise.
Some soldiers came and took Jesus away. Peter was very frightened. He was afraid that the soldiers would take him to prison too. So he tried to hide in the crowd. A girl came to Peter and said, “You were with Jesus.” Peter lied to the girl. He said he didn’t know Jesus. She asked him again. And Peter lied the second time. Other people asked Peter if he knew Jesus. Again, Peter said he didn’t know Him. What did Peter promise Jesus?
All of a sudden Peter heard a rooster crowing. Then he remembered his promise to Jesus. He was very sorry for breaking his promise. He was sorry for lying. When you make a promise you should keep it.

Rhymes and songs are valuable tools in teaching preschoolers. Their main job is teaching language skills. But they are also a fun way to help little ones become involved and move around and interact with others.
As a Christian preschool teacher, you will play a very important role in the beginning stages of learning for the children in your class. As you strive to provide positive, initial learning experiences for your students, you will be feeding the hearts and souls of our future.
Begin today’s lesson with the following rhyme, sung to the tune of “I Saw Three Ships.” Arrange the children in a circle. Sing through several times. Be sure to explain what it means to be trusted. Ask the children what they can do to show they can be trusted.
Trustworthy
Each day I hope that I can be
(Point to self)
A friend who’s known as trustworthy.
(Shake hands with child on right)
So I’ll ask God to be with me.
(Point to self)
I’ll pray each day in the morning.
(Put hands together as in prayer)
