THIRSTY - a strong craving for a drink of water
WELL - a deep hole in the ground containing water
One day Jesus was all alone. He came to a well. Jesus was tired and thirsty. He sat down beside the well to rest. There was water in the well. But, there wasn’t a pump to bring up the water. There wasn’t a pail and rope to bring up the water. At this well, women would lower big jars down into the water. They would carry the jar home on their heads. But, Jesus didn’t have a jar.
A woman came to the well with a jar on her head. When Jesus saw her He asked, “Please get some water with your jar and give me a drink.”
The woman didn’t think Jesus would even speak to her. She was from a different country than Jesus. People from these two countries were not friends.
The woman didn’t know who Jesus was. She didn’t know that He was God’s own Son. He told her, “I have a wonderful gift for you from God. I have Living Water to give you.” He was talking about something that would let her live forever. This was a gift that only God could give.
When you take the Living Water that Jesus gives, He gives you energy to be good. It will help you love others. It will help you be kind. But best of all, you will be able to live forever in God’s Kingdom!
Jesus is a very special friend. He gives very special gifts. And, the gift of Living Water will last forever!

Every day preschoolers are experiencing and learning new things. Disappointment is one thing they haven’t learned to cope with. They can get frustrated and throw temper tantrums. You can help prevent this from happening by having realistic expectations and establishing limits. These limits may have to be verbalized often. Never embarrass a child when he breaks the rules. Tell him privately, in terms he can understand, so he will know what rule he has broken. Stoop down so you are on his level. Searching for why the child may be upset will help you understand the solution. The child may be tired and in need of a quiet activity to do. He may just need some attention. A few minutes spent with him looking at a book may help him realize that he is special too.
